Background
CG Manufacturing and Distributing Inc (CG) is well established in the global Poultry and food processing industries. With over 25 years of experience CG brings the most modern equipment and class service to their customers in North America.
Their products offering includes an extensive range of manufactured OEM compatible spare parts, reconditioned equipment and consulting services for the poultry processing Industry. Also, CG’s fully reconditioned machines are completely dismantled and rebuild using new bearings, bushings and glide rods while their equipment is inspected, cleaned and reassembled to its original specifications.
Challenges
Like many businesses in North America, CG always had great aspirations for exporting its products to the Latin American markets but lacked the resources and the experience necessary to do this task. One of the main challenges faced by the company was establishing a reliable distributor network in key Latin American countries. “We know how to sell our products here in Canada and in the States. We often visit our distributors and attend all the main shows to create more opportunities. This works for us,” states Ken Cobb, President of CG Manufacturing. “However Latin America is a completely different ball game. We don’t know the language, the main players, and even if we attend the shows, we don’t have someone in house to follow up with customers and representatives,” he continues. The main thing for CG, was to understand the business potential in Latin America, establish reliable representatives, and set their foot on the door without spending large amounts of money.Solution

CG Manufacturing trusted on our knowledge and expertise to conduct market research on competitors, government and custom regulations, customers, and possible distributors in Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela, and Peru. From there, trade visits were carried out together with representatives from CG to visit main customers, distributor facilities, and participate in main poultry processing conferences. For this, DTGlobal coordinated multiple field meetings, and managed bookings, translation of marketing material, and booth set up. The results were outstanding.Results
